Perch Repair

Aldo the American Kestrel likes to stay busy during breeding season. Sometimes he tears newspaper into strips or pulls out his leather equipment. And sometimes he rips up the rope on his favorite perch. It's not a bad thing, but it does make more work for me. I shared a video last year showing how Aldo has trouble balancing on the perch once the rope is severed. When this happens, it needs to be replaced! Here is a 20-minute project reduced to under 2 minutes for you to see the process of Aldo's perch maintenance:
