Crate Training

Otto the Great Horned Owl seems to love his crate already. Why wouldn't he? That's where he gets lots of tasty treats.

Now that he can easily walk in and out of the crate, our next challenge is to get him comfortable with the crate door closing. Even slight movement of the door is scary at this point. We are working slowly so he learns that a closed crate door is just as safe - and includes even more rat tidbits - as the open door.
