Cat TV

When the raptors are inside during cold weather, I often turn on a screen so they have something to watch. Sometimes they enjoy live bird feeder videos and sometimes they are entertained by "Cat TV." As I typed it into YouTube this week, I realized that I haven't actually tried Cat TV with my cat at home. Why not test it out on it's intended audience?


Like with any new enrichment, whether it's for a kestrel or a cat, I carefully monitored her reactions to make sure it would not cause excessive stress or pose any danger to her. Calypso parked herself directly in front of the TV to watch chickadees, jays, and chipmunks move around the bird feeder. She seemed a little confused when one very interesting chipmunk walked off the screen...and somehow disappeared!
