Ice

With a layer of ice everywhere last weekend, venturing outside meant hoping for one thing: staying upright. Slipping on the ice would be bad enough. But slipping with a bird on my glove would be even worse. If I fell, my hand would fly open, release the bird's equipment, and they would be able to fly off as I hit the ground. So I savored some gratitude for my trusty Yaktrax that gave my shoes extra traction on the ice. They made venturing outside and caring for our animals a little bit safer.
