With warm sunny weather, I just can't resist taking a 20 minute break from my office to sit outside with Aldo the American Kestrel. These basking sessions are just as enjoyable for the birds as they are for me. They don't only get the chance to soak in the sun. It is also an opportunity to find a new view with new experiences outside of their mews.
Aldo spent some time in one of his favorite spots this week. Can you guess where this quiet spot in Cable might be?
The yard behind Forest Lodge Library's Book House feels like it was designed for Aldo and Carson. There is plenty of sun and pockets of shade. The quiet space rarely sees human visitors, but chirping robins, catbirds, and chipmunks often grab the attention of the raptors' sharp eyes. Aldo and Carson seem to agree that it is the perfect place to catch up on some preening or enjoy a tasty rat for lunch.
