What goes up...

Digger the hognose snake found herself in a bit of a pickle. In an effort (with unknown motivation) to investigate the ceiling of her habitat, she wedged herself vertically in a corner. Only the tip of her tail touched the ground as if she were standing on tiptoes. I found her in this impressive position and had to ask, "now what?"

As if to prove the old adage that what goes up must come down, Digger finally decided to make a U-turn. Her head now pointed toward the ground as she worked her body like a long inchworm. Squeezed between the window frames, her tail end scrunched upwards to push her front half down.

Gravity and a lack of friction finally got the best of her as she slumped into her bedding. Luckily snakes are solidly built and such a tumble wouldn't harm Digger. The fall didn't deter her from further investigations. A few minutes later I spied her attempting the same acrobatic maneuver.
