This week Aldo the kestrel was on the road - and the water - again. When the Madeline Island Library contacted me to schedule a raptor visit for their summer rec program, I was eager to make room in my busy summer calendar.
We arrived in Bayfield and were waved onto the 8:45 ferry to the island. I parked the van next to the engine room and figured Aldo would prefer to stay in his quiet crate. He would have to wait until our return trip to see the view of Lake Superior:
